Phoebe’s Bakery & Espresso Bar to Hold Grand Opening in Chicago Saturday, August 4th
Phoebe’s Bakery & Espresso Bar announced today that is holding its Grand Opening on Saturday, August 4th at 3351 N. Broadway (corner of Broadway and Roscoe) in Chicago, beginning at 7:00 AM. The first 1,000 customers to arrive will receive a complimentary small Phoebe’s Coffee brewed coffee.
Phoebe’s (formerly named Phoebe’s Cupcakes and previously located a half block south) offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, in addition to its signature cupcakes. Said Phoebe’s founder Phoebe Walters, “Our goal is to marry great coffee and espresso with great gourmet pastries and sandwiches. We’re really focused on comfort foods that you grew up with, and to bring a high quality, gourmet experience to foods that in the past weren’t considered gourmet.” Walters went on to say that the company focuses on buying the highest quality ingredients for all of its creations, and the restaurant is staffed primarily by culinary school trained chefs.
For breakfast, the company offers Phoebe’s Coffee espresso beverages and brewed coffee, with drinks hand crafted by experienced baristas from coffee beans from premium coffee roaster Alterra Coffee. Unique creations include a Salted Caramel Latte and a Honey Bunny Latte, with new flavors offered each month. For its breakfast menu Phoebe’s offers freshly baked cinnamon rolls, French toast cups, muffins, croissants, Danish, quiches, and breakfast paninis. All pastries are hand made in small batches by the company’s pastry chefs.
For lunch and dinner, Phoebe’s offers grilled cheese paninis and soups, with 7 signature grilled cheese paninis, and then also a “make your own” grilled cheeses panini that allows customers to build a customized sandwich with their choice of bread, cheese, meat, vegetables, and a dipping sauce.
Phoebe’s will continue to rotate its more than 200 flavors of Phoebe’s Cupcakes, with 15 flavors each week. All 200 flavors are available for advance ordering for large events and weddings.
Phoebe’s new location was designed by architect Brad French and Weiss Architects. Designer Nic Paulin with Paulin Design led the branding, marketing and design efforts for the company.
